BPA will recognize 68 Black podcasts and their creators across 22 award categories. The event will be live streamed across Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. It will be hosted by podcasters Allie Mitchell and Quinn Conyers, and include live performances and a free Zoom afterparty.

"Black podcasters continue to innovate and address critical issues in the Black community that are often overlooked in the mainstream media," said Georgie-Ann Getton-McKoy, CEO & Virtual Event Production Expert at GSD Solutions and BPA's Executive Director and CoFounder. "This event celebrates these pioneering voices and gives them the recognition they deserve. I want to thank our sponsors and congratulate our nominees for being recognized."

BPA's 2021 award nominees include an Olympic gold medalist, well-known business leaders, and widely recognized professionals regularly covered in news and media. Categories include Black Podcast of the Year, Best Black News/Informative Podcast, Best New Black Podcast, Best Black Family/Parenting Podcast, Best Black Music Podcast, and many more.

LoBello Communications, an award winning New York City-based communications firm, is the media sponsor of the 2021 awards. They are joined by prize sponsor Afros & Audio (A&A), the premier community and first podcast festival dedicated to Black podcasters and audio professionals. A&A will give each category winner VIP access to their third annual podcast festival in November as well as a six-month membership to their Community Network.

Latrice Sampson Richards, Afros & Audio Lead Event Consultant, said, "It is both an honor and privilege for us to be a part of the 2021 Black Podcasting Awards. Afros & Audio believes that Black audio creatives are a cut above and deserve to be recognized in this way. There is nothing like having the support of your own community, and that's what we're all about."

Extending the celebration beyond 2021's award winners, A&A is offering all involved with BPA this year 25% off their November 13 and 14 festival pass using discount code AFAUBPA21.
