Pedro Martin is Featured in a New Professional Profile

The owner and co-founder of the South Florida-based real estate development firm Terra revealed some fascinating thoughts, ideas, and opinions.

"We started developing more commercial and residential areas, including high rises, and we now have 15-20 active projects, as well as over 20 large, finished projects already under our belts. We often hire top architects from the US and Europe, and a lot of our buildings have become local community icons here in South Florida, where we still base most of our business. I'm proud of what we've achieved and continue to achieve."

"You have to have knowledge, charisma, and intelligence, of course, but you also have to have great people skills. You have to be able to manage a lot of different personalities, and interface with the right people in order to reach your desired goals. Try to hire the best people and retain the best consultants. If you work really hard at it and you do all of that, you should be successful," he responds with conviction. "Besides that, you've got to remember that there's always competition for every market, every area, and every business. So, you have to make sure to always be on an even keel or ahead of the competition, thinking outside of the box, and just generally doing whatever is necessary to make that happen."

Pedro Martin is a real estate developer based out of Miami, Florida. Born in Cuba but raised in the United States, Pedro's early academic pursuits gave little indication of his later career in high-end real estate development. After completing a BA in engineering from the University of Florida, he entered the professional world with the defense contracting company Martin Marietta (now known as Lockheed Martin) where he worked on various hi-tech electronics and missile systems. After some self-reflection, Pedro decided to go back to school to study law, once again at the University of Florida, graduating in 1978.
