Fordham University's School of Professional and Continuing Studies Appoints Roblin Meeks as Associate Dean

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / September 13, 2021 / Fordham University's School of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) is pleased to announce that Roblin Meeks has been named Associate Dean at the Lincoln Center campus. Meeks is responsible for evaluating academic programs and enhancing the overall experience for undergraduates and adult learners in line with PCS's mission of providing a quality education that meets personal goals and gives students a solid professional foundation.

"Roblin has extensive experience teaching and guiding adult students and will be an asset to PCS as we continue to expand our program offerings," said Dr. Anthony R. Davidson, dean of PCS. "Roblin brings a fresh perspective and he understands the unique circumstances of the adult learning experience. He will work with our team to provide students the education, tools and skills they need to build careers and achieve their goals."

Prior to joining Fordham, Meeks was Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Associate to the Provost for Extended Learning at John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York. Previously, Meeks served as Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Undergraduate Programs at Hunter College and, prior to that, was Assistant Director of the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning and a member of the Writing Program faculty at Princeton University. He also was a lecturer in the Expository Writing Program at Harvard University.

Meeks said he looks forward to collaborating with Dr. Davidson and the PCS team to further the school's mission. "I am excited to join a school dedicated to adults, serving people who are living full, busy lives," Meeks said. "Most are at junctures - they need a credential or they're unsatisfied in some way and are coming to higher education to give them that next boost. I find it inspiring to be at an institution that can help people advance personally, socially and professionally. That's a really powerful thing."

Meeks said that in addition to Fordham's national reputation as an outstanding institution, he was strongly attracted to its mission and direction. You can't separate wisdom from action, from obligation."

Meeks holds a PhD and master's degrees in philosophy from CUNY and a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Kansas State University.
