Leading Security Firm Says Private Investigation is the Key to Solving Many Complex Crimes

BALTIMORE, MD / ACCESSWIRE / November 17, 2022 / The safety of schools and churches has been a growing concern for more than a decade, especially in light of all the high-profile mass shootings across the U.S. Churches and schools are adding more security cameras, developing active shooter plans and applying for Department of Homeland Security Funding. Funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program was increased from $180 million in 2021 to $250 million in 2022. However, not all houses of worship that apply received the grant. According to the Jewish Insider, just over half of the 3,470 applications received were approved for funding. Several religious groups are advocating for $360 million in funding for 2023.

This past summer, President Joe Biden recently signed legislation to address gun violence by providing $1 billion in funding for schools to "create safe and healthy learning environments for all students" as well as an additional $300 million to go toward training and equipment that can help during a threat of violence.

The private security industry that focuses specifically on the education sector had projected revenue of $3.1 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow by more than eight percent annually on average, according to research and consulting firm Omdia. Security experts advise that schools, churches and even small businesses look to alternative solutions for identifying suspects and solving crimes.
