NEW ORLEANS, LA / ACCESS Newswire / July 15, 2026 / Unheard Productions proudly announces the continued national festival tour of its acclaimed documentary series, UNHEARD VOICES: A Mother's Quest for Freedom. Directed by Christopher Horne, the six-part series has captivated audiences across the country by shining a light on one of America's most overlooked communities - mothers and families living with the realities of incarceration.

Created by award-winning mother-son filmmaking duo Christopher Horne and Tosha Mills, UNHEARD VOICES was born from lived experience. After Christopher's brother Blake received a forty-year prison sentence at the age of seventeen in Texas for Aggravated Robbery with a toy gun, he and his mother Tosha transformed unimaginable pain into a powerful movement for justice, healing, and hope.

Featuring intimate interviews with more than twenty-five mothers from across the United States, the series explores the emotional, financial, psychological, and social impact incarceration has on entire families. Through authentic storytelling, UNHEARD VOICES challenges audiences to rethink justice, confront the human cost of mass incarceration, and recognize the resilience of families whose voices are too often ignored.

"This project is more than telling our story," said Tosha Mills. "It is about giving an isolated population of mothers' permission to be seen, heard, and valued. We hope these conversations inspire compassion, policy change, and a deeper understanding of the families living this daunting reality every day."

Christopher Horne added, "By creating this series, my mom and I wanted to share something with the world that could educate, heal, and bring hope to those not only trying to navigate physical incarceration, but mental ones as well. The voices of those silenced and marginalized matter, and their stories do, too."
