SACRAMENTO, CA / ACCESS Newswire / September 30, 2026 / After more than three decades in dentistry, Dr. Andrea Joy Smith, DDS, DICOI, DIAMDI, is officially expanding her professional platform as a speaker and dental educator, bringing years of clinical experience, advanced training, and a passion for teaching to dental conferences, study clubs, professional organizations, and continuing education programs.
Dr. Smith has spent more than 30 years building her career through patient care, advanced clinical education, professional mentorship, and a commitment to continuing education. Now, she is taking that experience beyond her dental practice to share the knowledge she has developed throughout her career with dentists and dental professionals.
Her speaking career builds on presentations and educational engagements with professional organizations and events including the Sistah to Sistah Summit, National Dental Association, International Academy of Mini Dental Implants, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dental Practice Mastery, and Spectrum Day Vancouver, BC.
"After more than 30 years of practicing dentistry, I have accumulated a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience that I want to share," said Dr. Andrea Joy Smith. "Teaching has always been a part of who I am, whether it was mentoring another dentist, helping a colleague with a challenging case, or teaching through my courses. Speaking gives me the opportunity to reach more dental professionals and share what I have learned throughout my career."
From Clinical Practice to the Classroom and Stage
Dr. Smith's approach to education is rooted in the clinical experience she has gained throughout her career. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA and graduated from the UCSF School of Dentistry in 1994. Since then, she has pursued advanced education in areas including dental implantology, TMJ-related disorders, orofacial pain, therapeutic Botox, sedation, laser dentistry, and restorative care.
A significant part of her clinical and teaching experience centers on One-Piece Dental Implants. Dr. Smith began placing one-piece implants in 2007 and has since placed thousands. Her experience has led to creating educational programs focused on one-piece implant treatment, including implant overdentures and other clinical applications.
She also teaches therapeutic Botox for dentists, with an emphasis on TMJ-related muscle pain, bruxism, TMD, and orofacial pain. Through Dental Practice Mastery, she shares her clinical knowledge through courses and mentorship designed for dental professionals.
A Growing Record of Speaking Engagements
Dr. Smith's transition into a broader speaking career has already included presentations before dental professionals in a variety of educational settings.
At the Sistah to Sistah Summit 2025 in Houston, Dr. Smith presented her expertise in the One-Piece Dental Implant Procedure to dental professionals attending the event.
