Company Update
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / September 12, 2024 / As of July 2024, the P.S. ARTS offices relocated to the Children's Institute, Inc. (CII) campus in Echo Park. This move is a significant milestone in P.S. ARTS' journey to service public schools and communities through arts education as it extends the organization's reach and increases its impact. The co-location marks a new model for P.S. ARTS and CII as nonprofits working together, aligning needs and resources to better service their communities.
P.S. ARTS CEO John Lawler said, "Our move is more than just a change of address; it represents an innovative model for how nonprofits can collaborate and utilize space effectively. The pandemic has changed how we think about real estate and space utilization. By partnering with CII and co-locating, we're not only optimizing our operations but also setting an example for other organizations to follow."
Though traditionally P.S. ARTS has been based on the westside of Los Angeles, the move to central Los Angeles signifies a strategic expansion of its service areas across the city and county. This shift allows P.S. ARTS to reach more families and bring programs to new neighborhoods, reflecting its commitment to being accessible and responsive to the diverse needs of school communities.
"The partnership isn't simply about sharing space; it's about innovating and finding new ways to support the educational success and emotional well-being of our local children and their families. By offering co-located workspaces to our community partners, we are emphasizing collaboration and pooling our collective resources to increase opportunities for our neighbors and reach more children," says Catherine Atack, Chief External Officer at Children's Institute.
This approach enables both P.S. ARTS and CII to build and extend their capacity, opening up space for community partners and maximizing resources in service of the families they serve. This new model is part of a broader conversation about the changing landscape of the times and an example of how philanthropic dollars can be used more effectively. Both P.S. ARTS and CII look forward to celebrating this exciting journey and the positive impact it will have on the students and communities they serve.
