CHICAGO, IL / ACCESS Newswire / September 1, 2026 / Chicago-based band Monsoon Showers has released FESTIVO, a five-song musical journey through some of India's most beloved festivals. Through original music, the album introduces festival traditions, emotions and universal messages to listeners across cultures and generations.
Built on the belief that celebrations can connect people regardless of language or background, FESTIVO explores the festivals of New Year, Pongal, Holi, Onam and Diwali. Its songs blend languages and musical influences with catchy melodies intended to make these centuries-old traditions accessible to children, families and international audiences.
One Album, Many Celebrations, a Universal Message
Rather than simply describing festivals, the songs explore the values behind them. Pongal encourages gratitude for the Earth, farmers, livestock and natural resources. Holi celebrates diversity and reconciliation. Diwali represents light and hope, Onam honors community and cultural memory, and New Year reflects renewal and optimism. FESTIVO intends to spread the festive spirit, traditions and values to younger generations in an engaging and accessible way. The album aims to connect children and listeners of all ages to rich cultural festivals and bring appreciation for diversity.
Across five festivals and five original songs, FESTIVO highlights emotions shared by cultures worldwide: gratitude, inclusion, family, community, respect for nature, togetherness and hope.

ABOUT MONSOON SHOWERS
Monsoon Showers is a Chicago-based musical group bringing together songwriting and musical production with influences drawn from India's rich musical and cultural traditions. The band benefits from its Gen Z band members bringing their lyrical and musical influences making their music apt for the younger generation. Originally formed by first-generation immigrants Venkatesh Padmanabhan and Jayashree Venkatesh, the younger generation of musicians Sneha and Sanjana, who are trained in both Western and Indian classical forms, joined the band bringing an appealing fusion of Indian music with American pop, alternative and country. The band regularly features multi genre artists and encourages young talents and has performed live concerts for the city of Chicago summer festival 2024, Schaumburg SeptemberFest 2025 and Schaumburg SeptemberFest 2026.
