ATLANTA, GA / ACCESS Newswire / July 23, 2026 / Crownz.ai, an AI business platform, launches today on the App Store, targeting a gap most major AI platforms have left unaddressed: representation at the model and product level for Black and Brown entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners.
The gap is well documented. In 2015, Google Photos' image recognition system mislabeled photos of Black men, one of the most widely cited early examples of racial bias in consumer AI. Related academic research followed: MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini's Aspire Mirror project and her subsequent "Gender Shades" study, published in 2018, found that commercial facial analysis systems trained on predominantly light-skinned datasets performed significantly worse on darker-skinned faces. Crownz.ai was built to address that class of failure directly - defaulting to represent the communities it serves across voice, image and video generation, rather than revising for representation after launch.

Founder Background
Crownz.ai was founded by Brian Tidmore, an independent music industry veteran who came up in the early 2000s with the E Bros camp, whose collaborators produced records including "Can't Knock the Hustle" (Jay-Z), "Still Not a Player" (Big Pun), and "Put Ya Hands Up" (Jadakiss). His longtime collaborators WaynO and Knobody continue producing today as Watchmen Pro.
