Company Update
The Leesburg company, started from a garage in September 2025, now maintains rooftop solar across 12 Central Florida towns.
LEESBURG, FL / ACCESS Newswire / September 15, 2026 / Service Solar Pros, a rooftop solar cleaning, inspection and repair company founded in a Leesburg garage in September 2025, has put a second work vehicle on the road and added a fourth technician within its first year. The company services 12 Central Florida towns and holds a 5.0-star rating across more than 110 Google reviews.
Founder Dustin Dawkins was 24 years old, working for another solar company and expecting his first son, when he decided to go out on his own. He bought a truck, ran the business out of his house, and stored customer parts in his garage - where he still keeps them. His first service call came that December, passed to him by a manufacturer's contact who had heard he had started his own company. His fiancée, days from her due date, rode along.
Florida has added rooftop solar faster than almost any state in the country. Far fewer people built the business that comes after the install. Panels in Central Florida collect pollen, dust and bird debris, and output falls quietly - most homeowners never notice, because nothing breaks. Service Solar Pros cleans, inspects and repairs systems from any brand and any installer, regardless of who performed the original installation, and photographs every job so the customer sees the before and after.
The company took delivery of that vehicle, a work van, on Aug. 24 and a fourth technician begins Sept. 8. The current team is three: Dustin Dawkins, his younger brother Haiden Dawkins, and a lifelong family friend. The company serves 12 Central Florida towns across Lake, Marion, Orange and Osceola counties.
"Everybody wanted to sell the panels. Nobody wanted to climb up and take care of them," Dustin Dawkins said. "I was 24 with a son on the way and everything to lose. If you're young and you're looking at a boom, don't chase the part everybody else is chasing - find the job next to it that nobody wants."
Dustin Dawkins says the plan is to keep hiring locally and training technicians rather than recruiting from outside the area, and to add locations and services over time.
"There's a real career here for people who'd rather work with their hands than sit in an office, and I want to build that where I live," he said. "Every job we've been sent has been a blessing. We're expanding because the demand is there, not because we went looking for it."
