Delaware County attorney reflects on securing a not-guilty verdict on all charges (17 counts), including first-degree murder, and the preparation required in serious criminal cases.
MEDIA, PA / ACCESS Newswire / September 30, 2026 / Stephen Ciarrocchi of Ciarrocchi Law recently secured a complete acquittal for a client facing 17 criminal counts, including first-degree murder, following a Delaware County jury trial. The verdict marked a significant result in Ciarrocchi's criminal defense practice and reflected the level of preparation required in high-stakes felony litigation.
The verdict was returned on October 25, 2024. According to the Delaware County Daily Times, the Defendant was acquitted of all charges brought against him, including first-degree murder.
For Ciarrocchi, the case reflected the importance of careful preparation when the consequences of a criminal prosecution are especially severe.

Ciarrocchi has built his legal career through experience in several parts of the criminal justice system. During and immediately after law school, he worked in the Pre-Trial Unit of the Delaware County District Attorney's Office, where he handled preliminary hearings involving cases ranging from DUI and drug offences to attempted homicide.
He later moved into private practice before being recruited to the Major Felony Unit of the Delaware County Public Defender's Office. There, he represented clients facing serious criminal charges and handled trials, pre-trial motions, negotiated pleas, and other major felony proceedings.
"Working in different parts of the system taught me to look at cases from more than one direction," Ciarrocchi said. "You cannot assume that a case will unfold a certain way. You have to understand the evidence, identify the issues, and be prepared to respond as the case develops."
The 2024 murder trial is one of several reported acquittals connected to Ciarrocchi's criminal-defence work. Other published reports have highlighted a 2023 Delaware County case in which his client was found not guilty on all charges including but not limited to child assault.
