Applicants are invited to submit a short video discussing how students can help reduce drunk driving in their communities.
CAROL STREAM, IL / ACCESS Newswire / September 22, 2026 / Hirsch Law Group is accepting applications for its $2,500 Reducing Drunk Driving Scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants must create a short video responding to the prompt, "Reducing Drunk Driving in Our Communities: What Can Students Do?"
Hirsch Law Group represents clients throughout Illinois in criminal cases, including matters involving driving under the influence. Through that work, the firm has seen how impaired driving can affect drivers, passengers, families, and the communities where these incidents occur.
The scholarship encourages students to examine the role they can play in preventing drunk driving. In their videos, applicants should present several courses of action students can take to discourage impaired driving in their communities. Responses should offer specific ideas, explain why the proposed actions could be effective, and communicate the applicant's position clearly.
Videos should be approximately two to three minutes long. Applicants must identify themselves and the Hirsch Law Group Reducing Drunk Driving Scholarship at the beginning of the recording. Professional cameras and advanced editing tools are not required, and production quality will not be considered during the review process. The firm is primarily interested in the applicant's ideas, analysis, and ability to address the topic.
Submissions must be original. Applicants may use research, statistics, or examples to support their proposals, but outside information and materials should be properly identified. Fully automated or AI-generated videos will not be accepted. The scholarship also prohibits the use of fake actors, AI-generated presenters, cloned voices, or fabricated individuals in place of the applicant's own participation.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college, university, trade school, or graduate program in the United States. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and be United States citizens or otherwise authorized to work or attend school in the country.
Students must submit the following materials with their applications:
- A working link to the completed video
- An unofficial academic transcript
- Proof of enrollment or acceptance
- A completed application form
- An electronic signature certifying that the information provided is accurate
Applications must be submitted through the scholarship page on the Hirsch Law Group website by January 15, 2027. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. The review process may take up to three months, and only the selected recipient will be notified. The $2,500 award will be sent directly to the recipient's educational institution.
