A Research-Driven Selection Process
CobraSight's awards are based on independent research rather than applications, sponsorships or payments for placement. The central question is whether CobraSight would feel confident recommending a company to an operator searching for one of the strongest partners in its category.
Because companies operating in crypto and digital assets face challenges beyond those encountered by conventional businesses, industry experience is a major part of the evaluation. CobraSight considers relevant client history, depth of specialization, understanding of the operating environment, geographic and jurisdictional experience, longevity in the market, and evidence of meaningful client relationships.
Where reliable information is available, quantitative factors may include years in business, team experience, relevant clients, geographic reach, case studies, documented campaign or project results, partnerships, certifications, and demonstrated activity within the category. These factors are complemented by qualitative research examining depth of expertise, quality of past work, leadership experience, industry reputation, professionalism, and evidence of genuine specialization.
Proven Client Work Matters
Client work and demonstrated results are among the strongest signals in the awards process. CobraSight reviews available case studies, client relationships, testimonials, portfolios, and other evidence of completed work, placing greater weight on demonstrated experience than on broad claims about a company's capabilities.
The evaluation also changes by category. A marketing agency may be examined on client results, channel expertise, growth strategies, and regulated-market experience, while a development company may be evaluated on technical specialization and complexity of delivered products. Compliance providers may be considered on regulatory expertise, jurisdictions served, and experience helping regulated businesses operate successfully.
Due Diligence Beyond the Numbers
Before final selections are made, CobraSight conducts additional research designed to validate important claims and identify information that could affect whether a company should be recommended. Research may include company and leadership reviews, case-study and client verification, corporate websites and published materials, professional profiles, independent media coverage, customer and industry reputation signals, publicly available corporate information, and regulatory or compliance information when relevant.
Meeting basic eligibility requirements does not guarantee recognition. The final assessment considers the complete body of available evidence and looks for a combination of relevant experience, proven expertise, strong client work, industry reputation, and category leadership.
Industry Leaders Help Inform the Final Selection
CobraSight also invites fifty industry founders, operators, and senior decision-makers to review shortlisted vendors and provide input on the companies that stand out within their respective categories. Panelists consider factors including documented client outcomes, industry knowledge, understanding of regulated markets, and depth of specialization. Judges are not compensated for participating, and commercial relationships with CobraSight do not determine award outcomes.
Recognition Cannot Be Purchased
A core principle of the CobraSight methodology is the separation between winning an award and promoting an award. Companies cannot purchase a ranking, award, recommendation, or favorable research outcome from CobraSight.
Following selection, winners may separately choose to purchase optional media distribution or other CobraSight services. These services are not required to receive or maintain an award and have no influence on the research or selection process. This separation is intended to preserve the independence and credibility of the recognition program.
