NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / April 5, 2022 / Harmony, a third-generation blockchain network, has partnered with Morphware, an innovative peer-to-peer network for using mining computing power in AI computations.
The partnership was conducted through the Harmony Project X, an incubation program from Harmony during ETHDenver 2022, and saw Harmony purchase $200,000 worth of Morphware tokens. Morphware's founder Kenso Trabing hosted a workshop at the conference highlighting the benefits of the project and the power of machine learning.
Morphware is currently live on Ethereum mainnet, where AI workloads are deployed trustlessly via smart contracts. With the high gas fees on mainnet, using Morphware on Ethereum incurs higher costs. As part of the partnership, Morphware committed to deploying its protocol to the Harmony Network, an ultra-scalable and interoperable EVM-compatible platform.
Morphware aims to provide a reliable alternative to the primarily GPU-based mining power that will be thrown off the Ethereum network with The Merge to Proof of Stake. Millions of devices will be suddenly left without any significant usage avenue, as other PoW blockchains are unable to accommodate the entirety of the load. With Morphware, the mining power could be devoted to solving AI workloads, a field where computing power is always in deficit. Former miners can offer their devices to the Morphware network, while compute users can tap into this source to solve their AI workloads.
Since all AI workloads are decentralized, they require smart contracts to "intermediate" between buyers and sellers. With the need for a much more scalable network evident, Morphware has chosen Harmony to expand its list of compatible client platforms. Thanks to the partners' shared focus on usability for both end-users and developers, the integration will generate tremendous value to both Harmony and Morphware users.
