MEXICO CITY, MX / ACCESS Newswire / September 18, 2026 / Emerging markets such as Latin America offer substantial private-credit opportunities, and a growing number of investors want to participate in that growth. What has long been missing is a compliant, practical product channel. To help close that gap, EX.IO Group, a digital-asset solutions group connecting traditional finance (Web2) and the Web3 ecosystem, and Oria, a real-world asset (RWA) investment platform, today announced a strategic partnership. The two parties will work to tokenise emerging-market assets as RWAs and jointly build a compliant, end-to-end RWA pathway spanning issuance, offering, distribution and custody - so that more investors in eligible jurisdictions can access emerging-market growth in a secure and regulated manner.

Substantial Emerging-Market Credit Potential, Strong Investor Demand, Limited Comparable Products

Credit investment opportunities across Latin America and other emerging markets are expanding in scale. According to the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the financing gap for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in emerging markets is as high as USD 5.7 trillion. Private-credit yields in emerging markets also typically exceed those in developed markets by 150 to 300 basis points, leaving a meaningful spread. At the same time, net debt-to-EBITDA for corporates in the Latin American high-yield market stands at around 2.8x, with interest coverage of 5.4x - stronger than the U.S. high-yield market's roughly 5.5x leverage and 4.5x coverage. Robust funding demand, relatively attractive borrowing rates and comparatively healthier repayment profiles are making emerging-market credit an allocation theme that global investors can no longer ignore.

Demand is equally strong, but comparable products remain scarce. A growing number of investors - including, but not limited to, investors in Hong Kong - want to share in emerging-market growth. High-quality comparable products are limited, and compliant circulation channels have yet to be fully opened. For many non-local investors, emerging-market credit has long been visible but out of reach.

RWA tokenisation is a key enabling path to close that supply-demand gap: issuing emerging-market credit assets in tokenised form, then offering, distributing and custodying them through a licensed platform. That is the basis on which EX.IO Group - which has already built and put into production full-stack RWA infrastructure - and Oria, a consumer-finance expert, are collaborating. The intended workstream includes using credit assets sourced by Oria in Latin America as underlying assets, with EX.IO Group supporting issuance, offering, distribution and custody of the related RWA tokens. The aim is to bring diversified, new financial products to eligible investors outside emerging markets who are located in qualified jurisdictions, and to broaden their allocation toolkit.

Unlocking Consumer-Finance Opportunities and Building a Compliant Credit RWA Stack

The partnership draws on each party's established strengths. Oria's credit engine is built on a decade of consumer-finance operating experience spanning asset origination, pricing and risk management. That industry depth converts local knowledge of borrowing demand and repayment behaviour into a continuing ability to source and manage credit assets. On the asset side, Oria focuses on yield opportunities supported by real credit receivables and borrower repayment cash flows, and applies concrete asset-management capability to help investors assess emerging-market return potential and risk. In credit markets, Oria has already recorded strong results: its proprietary emerging-market consumer credit origination has reached USD 2 billion in cumulative disbursements, and assets under management on the platform rose to nearly USD 3 million within one month of launch - evidence of market demand and a foundation for subsequent RWA tokenisation.

EX.IO Group, for its part, already has multiple live mainnet records in RWA issuance, including but not limited to EXCB-25, the first tokenised product based on a convertible promissory note. Recent results include 30+ tokenised products offered on the Group's Hong Kong-licensed EX.IO platform, a continuing lead among Asia's licensed peers, and year-on-year growth of 200% in tokenised-product sales and 800% in related trading volume in September 2026 - underscoring the platform's strength in compliant tokenisation and RWA.

Combining quality emerging-market product supply with leading full-chain RWA tokenisation capability, both parties believe the partnership is a practical path for more investors outside emerging markets to access these opportunities. They also believe the collaboration can set a new benchmark for the market - particularly the licensed sector - and serve as a strong example of industry partnership.

An Early Pilot Has Already Laid the Groundwork for Broader Strategic Collaboration

Beyond cooperation across a self-built RWA full-chain stack, under the partnership framework Oria plans to purchase selected RWA products already offered on the EX.IO platform to diversify its own asset allocation. The two parties intend to map each other's strengths onto the full RWA value chain. As an early "pilot-first" validation, Oria has completed institutional onboarding on the EX.IO platform and executed its first subscription to a tokenised product through EX.IO using USD stablecoins. That live transaction ran the path of "stablecoin funding - conversion on a licensed platform - subscription to a tokenised product," providing a foundation to upgrade a single-trade proof of concept into strategic collaboration covering RWA issuance, offering, distribution and custody.

Looking ahead, the two parties will continue close coordination to scale cooperation in volume and scope, set a constructive benchmark for the licensed industry, and deepen mutually beneficial collaboration.

"Making RWA investing easier to understand and use starts with keeping every step on a compliant track," said Danny Xu, Chief Executive Officer of Oria. "Through our partnership with EX.IO Group and EX.IO, our Latin American credit fund stands to gain a complete compliant path from issuance and offering through to custody. At the same time, we will bring selected quality RWA products from the EX.IO platform to Oria's eligible investors. This is a two-way channel for assets and capital, not a one-off, single-point collaboration. Combined with the tokenised issuance and licensed-market access contemplated under this partnership, Oria's longer-term plan can extend from a single product to a sustainably scalable asset supply - connecting real-economy financing demand in emerging markets with a broader base of international capital."

"We are pleased to bring credit products from Latin America and other emerging markets to Asia, turning assets that have historically been difficult to access across borders into compliant products that more investors can reach - so that investors can share in the dividends of fast-growing markets," said Toya ZHANG, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of EX.IO Group. "In this partnership with Oria, EX.IO Group is responsible for issuance; the licensed platform EX.IO is responsible for offering and custody; and Oria extends distribution of selected tokenised products from the EX.IO platform to its investor network. Each party performing its role and applying its strengths is the best example of collaboration in the licensed industry. We look forward to using this as a model to continue screening quality emerging-market assets and connecting them to Hong Kong's compliant digital infrastructure, offering Web2 and Web3 investors a more diversified set of asset choices."
