British actor returns to screen in upcoming internationally distributed film after recovery from cancer and career hiatus
LONDON, UK / ACCESS Newswire / May 18, 2026 / British actor Nick Lavelle has completed filming on the upcoming psychological thriller The Nice Ones, marking his return to on-screen acting following a period of recovery from illness.

The feature film, set for U.S. and international distribution through Los Angeles-based distributor Level 33 Entertainment, casts Lavelle as Jay, a central antagonist whose unpredictable nature intensifies the film's psychological tension.
The Nice Ones follows a group of friends whose countryside retreat descends into paranoia and psychological instability after unexplained lights appear in the sky, blurring the boundaries between reality and perception.
Lavelle's return to acting follows a period away from the industry during his recovery from cancer. His comeback required rebuilding both physical strength and professional focus to meet the demands of production.

He added that preparing for the role required discipline and resilience, with the character of Jay offering an opportunity to translate personal experience into performance.
