Featuring a handcrafted wooden magnetic hanger, this 18" x 24" board game-inspired visual aid turns government and civic engagement into an inspiring, museum-grade work of art.

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / October 28, 2026 / As gift-giving season approaches, boutique design studio Tiny Little Cosmos (TLC) has introduced a striking new civics tool that could be a holiday gift for the educators, students, and civic champions in your life: the "How to Make Change Through Government" Art Print With Hanger.

Created specifically to make civic education engaging and accessible, the museum-grade wall chart is tailored for classrooms, school libraries, student unions, and civics programs. The poster features an interactive, map-inspired path winding from "Start" to "Gain New Ground." By breaking down critical phases in the policymaking process - such as community research, oversight, public evaluation, campaigning, and policy formation - the design helps students learn the twists and turns of the policy making process.

Each print arrives bundled with a handcrafted solid wood magnetic poster hanger (available in black, white, or natural oak finishes), complete with a color-coordinated hanging cord for a polished display.

Why It's Attractive for Educators, Students, and Civic Champions:

  • Meaningful & Inspired: A thoughtful alternative to standard holiday mugs or generic gift cards, celebrating an educator's passion or a student's ambitions. Civic champions will love how the poster makes the often dry topic of civics accessible through its game-like design.
  • Museum-Grade Durability: Printed on archival, acid-free paper with fade-resistant giclée inks and a glare-reducing matte finish built to withstand years of classroom or home-office lighting.
  • Ready to Display: Includes a handcrafted solid wood magnetic hanger and color-coordinated cord, eliminating the hassle of traditional framing.

Classroom & Curriculum Integration:

Educators can use the 18" x 24" poster as a visual anchor for:

  • Government & Civics: Mapping out local policy-making, advocacy, and civic action.
  • Project-Based Learning: Guiding student groups through community research and campaign planning.
  • School Libraries & Study Spaces: Serving as an inspiring, durable reference piece for student-led initiatives.

Availability

The "How to Make Change Through Government" art print with hanger is available for $65.00 exclusively through the TLC Shop. A version without the hanger is also available for $55.00. Origins and Design Team

Originally created to inspire civic participation during the historic 2020 election season, the poster encouraged young people and first-time voters to understand the levers of government as part of the book The Art of Voting by Alison Mann and Stephanie Perea of Cawzii. The Art of Voting was created as an all-volunteer fundraiser for then-gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams.

The poster was brought to life through a collaborative creative team: striking illustrations by award-winning writer and artist Paula Rogers, meticulous typesetting and text layout by Kiersten Nash Matsui, and original concept and creative direction by award-winning writer and strategic designer Deepthi Welaratna.

  • Paula Rogers (Illustrator): Paula is an award-winning writer, illustrator, and designer. She is the author of the romantic comedies Swiped and All for Show, as well as the web comic Blind Data. Her distinct illustrative style brings warmth, clarity, and narrative charm to complex public-interest topics.
  • Kiersten Nash Matsui (Typesetting & Layout): Kiersten is the founder of Public Works Collaborative. With a sharp focus on operational clarity and civic infrastructure, she specializes in information architecture and typesetting that turns dense systems into intuitive, user-friendly pathways.
  • Deepthi Welaratna (Original Concept, Writing & Creative Direction): Deepthi is the Founder of Tiny Little Cosmos. Alongside leading the poster's original concept and creative direction, she authored the text, bringing ecosystem-level storytelling and narrative architecture to mission-driven creative work.

"We wanted to create something that takes the often intimidating mechanics of government and turns them into an inviting, approachable adventure," said Paula Rogers, illustrator of the poster. "It's a meaningful way to spark genuine curiosity and help students and learners see themselves as active participants in change."

Kiersten Nash Matsui of Public Works Collaborative added, "Designing the information architecture for this piece was about transforming dense civic processes into a clear, intuitive map that students and educators can instantly engage with."

"When we first conceptualized this during the 2020 election season, the goal was to cut through political noise and show people-especially young voters-that civic engagement doesn't have to stop at the ballot box," offered Deepthi Welaratna. "We wanted to make the ongoing mechanics of government feel approachable, visual, and actionable-in a word, democratic."
