There, he led design teams and managed complex projects while strengthening his expertise in structural steel and piping design. From 2015 to 2018, he held concurrent roles as a senior piping designer and design supervisor with Fluor/Plant Engineering Service, contributing to major projects including the Sasol expansion in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and the STAR project for Marathon in Texas City.
Mr. Marsh's academic foundation includes an associate degree in computer-aided design from ITT Technical Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His interest in the field began with an AutoCAD class in high school, which he enjoyed and continued to pursue as design technology evolved.
Speaking with Marquis Who's Who, Mr. Marsh says he sees continued innovation reshaping the field, including artificial intelligence, advanced laser scanning and drone-mounted inspection technology. While he believes AI may eventually route a large percentage of lines when properly configured, he emphasizes that experienced judgment remains essential for the final decisions. He also sees safety benefits in drones that can inspect tank interiors, reducing the need for workers to enter hazardous environments.
Mr. Marsh attributes his success to dedication, hard work and a genuine love of design. "I love coming up with a solution for problems," he said. "I think that's why I like doing it the most. His greatest professional achievement is building a successful business that provides stable employment for eight people.
Looking ahead, Mr. Marsh aims to keep his employees satisfied, maintain strong client relationships and prepare for retirement while supporting his daughter, who is pursuing architectural studies at Tulane University. He hopes to pass the business to her if she chooses to continue the legacy.
