Company Update
LONDON, UK / ACCESS Newswire / October 8, 2026 / Pavilion Power launches Local Power Pavilions nationally starting with Teesside
Local power. Local industry. Long-term certainty.
Pavilion Power today announces the national launch of Local Power Pavilions, starting with Teesside, to bring local renewable generators and local industry together under long-term commercial arrangements. Businesses that use electricity, generate it or are developing new generation projects are invited to register their interest.
Local Power Pavilions are regional energy marketplaces designed to match renewable generation with local industrial demand. By bringing both sides together under one pavilion, the programme aims to reduce exposure to volatile wholesale markets and give businesses greater visibility over their future electricity costs.
Greater certainty for energy users
For energy users, the proposition is long-term price visibility that supports better forecasting, business planning and investment decisions. Agreed prices for contracted electricity volumes can help businesses treat more of their electricity procurement as a fixed cost, rather than a major variable cost driven by wholesale-market movements. Participants can access local green generation, with potential opportunities to integrate storage and flexibility where commercially appropriate.
Long-term routes to market for generators
For generators and generation projects, Local Power Pavilions offer a route to credible local industrial demand and a growing pool of regional energy customers. Longer-term commercial arrangements can provide stronger revenue visibility and support the investment case for new renewable generation.
Teesside first in a national programme
Teesside is the starting point for Pavilion Power's national programme, reflecting the opportunity to connect industrial electricity demand with regional renewable generation. Registrations from energy users and generators elsewhere in the UK will help inform the development of further regional pavilions.
Richard Taylor, Director of Pavilion Power, commented:
"Local power. Local industry. Long-term certainty. That is the purpose of Local Power Pavilions. Businesses need to know what their energy will cost so they can plan production, invest and grow with confidence. We are bringing local generators and local industry together under one pavilion to reduce exposure to volatile wholesale markets and make future electricity costs more predictable. We are starting with Teesside and inviting businesses across the UK to join the conversation."
Oliver Raynor, Director of Pavilion Power, added:
"For energy users, the opportunity is greater visibility over future electricity costs. For generators, it is a long-term route to local customers and clearer revenues. Matching generation with demand is the foundation for commercial arrangements that work for both sides."
Pavilion Power believes the programme is aligned with the wider aims of the Government's Great British Grid initiative: enabling clean power, strengthening energy security and supporting economic growth.
The extent of price certainty will depend on each participant's agreed contract, matched electricity volumes and demand profile. Total bills remain affected by consumption, network and policy charges, and any residual market exposure.

Notes to editors
Pavilion Power helps businesses improve their competitiveness through energy intelligence, procurement, optimisation and the value of electricity they generate. Local Power Pavilions are its regional marketplace programme for connecting renewable generation with industrial demand under longer-term arrangements. The programme works alongside the wider electricity system, which remains available for balancing, surplus and shortfall.
Great British Grid was announced by the Government on 29 September 2026 as a publicly owned body within Great British Energy to support electricity network investment and delivery. Pavilion Power's statement of alignment refers to shared policy aims and does not indicate a government partnership or endorsement.
