Super Q Center powers 32 fast-charging stalls without a utility grid connection and passes the savings on to drivers

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / October 22, 2026 / Super Q Center will celebrate the grand opening of its first electric-vehicle fast-charging hub on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 5806 Lankershim Blvd. The 32-stall site operates entirely off-grid, generating its own electricity on-site and storing it in a large battery system, enabling Super Q Center to offer the lowest fast-charging prices in Los Angeles. To celebrate, the first 100 drivers will receive a free charge of up to $25.

Across California, new charging stations often sit unfinished while awaiting grid upgrades. Super Q Center skipped that line. On-site natural gas generators, equipped with emissions controls, charge a battery energy storage system that powers the chargers. The result is a fast-charging hub that could open on its own timeline, at a location drivers already pass every day.

Built for every EV:

  • 32 charging stalls: 16 NACS ports and 16 CCS ports
  • 180-kilowatt and 360-kilowatt fast chargers
  • Teslas and all other EVs plug in directly, with no adapter required
  • Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an attendant on-site around the clock
  • Vending and other amenities
  • Pay through the QCharge123 app or by card at the on-site terminal

Lower prices than the rest of the city

Many public fast chargers in Los Angeles now cost nearly as much per mile as gasoline. Super Q Center's early-morning rate of 30 cents per kilowatt-hour means drivers pay less than half what a typical gas car costs per mile. The rate is 38 cents per kilowatt-hour at night and 48 cents per kilowatt-hour in the afternoon and evening.

"Drivers shouldn't have to pay gas-station prices for electric driving," said Bruce Bendell, co-founder of Super Q Center. "By generating our own power, we avoided the grid delays that hold back so many charging projects, and we can pass those savings directly to drivers." Super Q Center can keep its rates low because it does not rely on utility electricity rates or the demand charges utilities impose.

Since opening with almost no advertising, the site has attracted a steady stream of drivers, and most first-time customers return.

"This site proves you can build fast charging where and when it's needed," said Sergej Marojevic, CEO of QCharge123. "North Hollywood is the first of what we expect to be many Super Q Centers across California."
