Bolo AI joins 250+ organizations advancing the development and deployment of AI solutions tailored to the power sector

HOUSTON, TX / ACCESS Newswire / June 15, 2026 / Bolo AI, the control tower for complex industrial operations, today announced it has joined the Open Power AI Consortium (OPAI), a global consortium founded by EPRI to drive the development and deployment of AI solutions tailored to the electric power sector.

The Open Power AI Consortium brings together more than 250 organizations - including over 120 utilities and energy companies and more than 130 technology providers - alongside researchers, national labs, and academia to accelerate AI adoption across the way electricity is made, moved, and used. The consortium's work spans open, domain-specific AI models, shared datasets, and a structured pathway for utilities and technology providers to collaborate, test, validate, and de-risk AI solutions in real-world demonstrations.

Bolo AI joins the consortium as the power generation workforce faces a generational turnover: decades of operating knowledge are walking out the door while the data that should preserve it sits scattered across systems that don't talk to each other. Bolo AI addresses this with a context layer that understands the business and AI agents that investigate and act on it, from operations through accounting, with humans in the loop by default.

"The power sector doesn't have a shortage of AI. It has a shortage of AI it can trust with operations," said Diti Sood, Founder and CEO of Bolo AI. "The people who know how these plants actually run are retiring, and the knowledge they carry was never written down in one place. We built Bolo to capture that context and put it to work, with domain-aware agents, deterministic math, and a human approving every action. OPAI's mission is exactly the right one: open collaboration, shared benchmarks, and real-world validation are how this industry adopts AI safely and quickly. We're proud to be part of it."

"By collaborating with companies like Bolo AI, through the Open Power AI Consortium, we're accelerating the responsible deployment of AI," said Jeremy Renshaw, director of AI and Quantum at EPRI. "The Consortium is committed to delivering secure and resilient AI-powered solutions that shape the future of energy."

As a member, Bolo AI will contribute its experience deploying domain-aware AI in industrial operations, including power generation and utilities, to the consortium's collaborative research, use case development, and demonstration efforts, and will work alongside member utilities to validate AI applications that could improve reliability, operational efficiency, and cost performance.

About Bolo AI

Bolo AI is the control tower for complicated industries with complicated data, a context layer that understands the business and AI agents that act on it, from operations through accounting. Built for industrial operators in power generation, utilities, refining, chemicals, midstream, upstream, pulp and paper, metals and mining, and engineering, Bolo AI captures the tribal knowledge and scattered data that complicated operations run on, and puts it to work through domain-aware, human-in-the-loop AI agents. Bolo AI is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Learn more at bolo.ai.

About the Open Power AI Consortium

Launched by EPRI in March 2025, the Open Power AI Consortium unites the electric sector with advanced AI solutions, fostering collaboration among industry leaders, researchers, and technology providers to drive the development and deployment of AI tailored to enhance operational efficiency, increase resiliency and reliability, deploy emerging and sustainable technologies, and reduce costs while improving the customer experience.
