Security Technology Company Advances From Concept to an Operational Prototype as It Prepares Defender One for Real-World Pilots and Commercialization

CHICAGO, IL / ACCESS Newswire / September 17, 2026 / Shieldwise, Inc., a security technology company developing AI-powered concealed weapon detection systems, today announced a major milestone: the development of an operational prototype of Defender One, its flagship AI-powered concealed weapon detection system.

With Defender One now operational, Shieldwise is entering its next stage and seeking $5 million in seed funding to advance the technology, launch real-world pilots, prepare for manufacturing, and accelerate commercialization.

From an Idea to Defender One

Shieldwise was founded around a simple but important question: Can technology help security teams identify a concealed threat before it becomes an incident?

Traditional security screening often relies on fixed checkpoints, metal detectors, and manual searches. Shieldwise set out to develop a different approach by combining artificial intelligence, imaging, and multiple sensing technologies into a system designed to identify potential concealed weapons in real time.

That vision became Defender One.

After extensive development across hardware, AI, sensor integration, industrial design, and software, Shieldwise has built an operational prototype.

"Seeing Defender One move from an idea to a physical, operational system has been one of the most important milestones for our company," said Ali Hosseinzadeh, Shieldwise Founder and CEO. "Now our focus is on improving the technology, validating it in real-world environments, and preparing it for commercialization."

More Than a Camera

Defender One combines high-resolution imaging, AI algorithms, and multi-sensor technology and is being developed to identify potential concealed weapons under clothing or inside bags.

Shieldwise is also developing a connected software platform for camera management, real-time alerts, analytics, and multi-location monitoring.

The technology is being developed for environments including schools, airports, transportation hubs, event venues, government facilities, and other high-traffic locations.

Building a Scalable Security Business

Shieldwise's business model combines hardware sales, installation services, and recurring software subscriptions, creating both upfront and recurring revenue opportunities.

The company plans to begin commercialization through real-world pilot programs, followed by direct institutional sales and partnerships with security organizations, government agencies, education organizations, and distribution partners.

Moving Toward Commercialization

With the operational prototype completed, Shieldwise is focused on continued AI optimization, real-world pilot deployments, manufacturing and supply-chain preparation, and expansion of its software platform.

Shieldwise Seeks $5 Million in Seed Funding

Shieldwise is seeking $5 million in seed capital to support the next stage of development and commercialization.

The company plans to use the capital to advance AI development and optimization, support real-world pilot deployments, prepare manufacturing and supply-chain operations, expand its software platform, and build the infrastructure required for commercialization.

"The prototype demonstrated our ability to turn our vision into a real system," Hosseinzadeh said. "The next step is taking Defender One from an operational prototype to a product that can be validated, manufactured, deployed, and supported at scale."

As part of its broader fundraising efforts, Shieldwise has also launched a campaign on Wefunder.
