Company expects to begin moving operations next summer while maintaining its existing Clearwater facility

LARGO, FL / ACCESS Newswire / October 23, 2026 / Hammer Haag Steel plans to begin moving operations into its new Largo manufacturing facility during the summer of 2027, marking the next stage in an expansion that will reshape the steel fabricator's production footprint in Pinellas County.

The new operation will become Hammer Haag Steel's primary production facility as the company expands beyond the space available at its existing Clearwater location. The Clearwater facility will remain operational, with certain manufacturing activities and a smaller crew continuing there after the Largo site comes online.

For Hammer Haag Steel, maintaining both locations provides a way to expand production while preserving capabilities established at its longtime Clearwater operation.

"We have reached the point where our current facility simply cannot accommodate the scale of work we want to take on," said Constantin Haag, founder and CEO of Hammer Haag Steel. "The Largo facility gives us room to grow without walking away from the operation we have built in Clearwater. Our goal is to expand carefully, keep serving our customers through that transition and create a much larger platform for the company's next stage."

The Largo project will provide approximately 227,700 square feet across manufacturing, machining and office areas based on current permitted building square footage.

Most of the new site will support expanded heavy steel fabrication. Hammer Haag Steel is also planning a dedicated, fully air-conditioned machining operation designed to accommodate significantly larger and heavier components than its existing facility can currently handle.

The additional space is expected to allow the company to pursue larger and more technically complex projects while increasing overall manufacturing capacity. Once fully developed, Hammer Haag Steel expects the new operation to provide the ability to approximately triple its present capacity.

The expansion follows years of growth at the company's Clearwater base, where available production space has become a constraint on further expansion. Rather than replace that operation entirely, Hammer Haag Steel intends to use the two locations strategically as Largo becomes its primary production hub.

That approach will allow the company to preserve parts of its existing manufacturing footprint while adding the floor space, equipment and supporting infrastructure required for its next generation of fabrication and machining work.

Hammer Haag Steel expects the expansion to support continued workforce growth as production increases. The company has said the facility could ultimately create hundreds of additional manufacturing jobs as it grows into the operation's full capacity.

The Largo expansion has already attracted regional attention, including recent coverage from the Tampa Bay Business Journal, The St. Pete Catalyst, Clearwater Sentinel and more on Hammer Haag Steel's plans for the site.

For Hammer Haag Steel, the expansion is designed to create a larger production platform without abandoning the Clearwater operation that supported the company's earlier growth.

"Growing the business is not just about having a bigger building," Haag said. "We are creating the space and manufacturing infrastructure we need to handle larger projects while continuing to build the team and capabilities behind them."
