DEARBORN, MI / ACCESS Newswire / April 14, 2026 / Amo Sami's Shawarma, the fast-growing Mediterranean quick-service restaurant brand known as the originator of the viral crispy shawarma movement, today announced a major expansion milestone, with 90 new locations signed-bringing the total to 102 locations currently in development across more than 14 states.
The brand's roots trace back to 2016, when Sami's Fattoush was established as a small, family-owned and operated restaurant known for its signature fattoush salad and shawarma. Built on traditional recipes and a commitment to quality, the concept developed a loyal following within its local community.
In 2022, the brand expanded into the food truck scene, where its now signature crispy shawarma quickly gained traction. At large-scale events, long lines formed as customers experienced the product firsthand, marking the early stages of what would become a viral food movement.
Shortly after, founders Sami Rayshouny and Weesam "Sam" Ali- who connected through the food truck circuit-formalized their partnership and began building a scalable concept focused on delivering the most in-demand items with consistency, speed, and strong customer experience.
That vision led to the launch of Amo Sami's Shawarma in 2024, a brand designed for growth while maintaining the quality and authenticity that drove its early success.
Before expanding, the company made a deliberate decision to build a strong operational foundation, including a reliable supply chain, standardized systems, and franchise support infrastructure to ensure long-term scalability. "We focused on getting the foundation right first," said co-founder Weesam "Sam" Ali. "Supply chain, operations, and support systems had to be in place so every location can deliver the same experience. That's what allows us to scale
the right way."
With that infrastructure now in place, Amo Sami's is fully prepared to support its growing footprint, with the ability to supply and operate locations across all 50 states while maintaining consistency across the brand. From its first restaurant to every future opening, customers can expect the same core experience that built the brand-crispy shawarma, bold flavors, fresh salads, and a high-energy, modern take on Lebanese street food.
The company's growth has been fueled by strong customer demand, social media traction, and increasing food tourism, with guests traveling from across the country and internationally to experience the brand firsthand. "We're seeing people go out of their way to come try it," said co-founder Sami Rayshouny. "That level of support is what drives us to keep raising the bar as we grow."
Amo Sami's also acknowledged key partners who have supported its development and expansion. "A special thanks to PRO RCS for their ongoing support in helping us grow the brand, strengthen our operations, and bring this vision to life," the company stated.
With more than 100 locations in development and expansion underway, Amo Sami's Shawarma is positioned to enter new markets nationwide, with a long-term vision of becoming a truly national-and globally recognized-brand. "We built this to be more than just a restaurant," Ali added. "It's something people connect with-and now, something they're traveling for."
