Product Announcements
Small business owners can now ask their AI assistant for a week's worth of posts and have them published to their social media channels with AI-generated images, platform-specific formatting, and best-time scheduling recommendations. Every post waits for the owner's approval, and the connector is included with the platform's Solo and Pro plans.
MIAMI, FL / ACCESS Newswire / August 18, 2026 / SocialPost.ai, an AI social media management platform used by more than 15,000 small businesses and creators, today launched its MCP connector, an MCP social media scheduler with approval built-in. Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard that lets AI assistants work with external tools, the connector works with Claude, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Grok at launch, along with MCP-compatible tools such as Cursor, and more assistants to follow.
Founder and CEO Gregory Scott Henson kicked off the announcement with a LinkedIn livestream, opening with the line: "Meet Claude for social media."
The launch closes the gap where most small business marketing breaks down. AI assistants write strong posts, but the output is left in the chat window. Owners then copy, paste, format, and schedule every post by hand, and consistency quietly stops in the third week. With the SocialPost.ai MCP connector, a single prompt like "write two weeks of posts about our new pricing and schedule them for mornings" produces posts that land in SocialPost.ai formatted, scheduled, and waiting for approval.
"The AI assistant already writes the posts. The copy and paste between the chat and the scheduler is where consistency dies," said Gregory Scott Henson, CEO of SocialPost.ai. "The connector removes that step. A week of posts can be drafted, scheduled, and approved without leaving the chat."
How It Works
Draft in chat, schedule in SocialPost.ai: The user's AI writes the caption, and SocialPost.ai formats and schedules the post.
Timed to the audience, not the clock: Posts can be scheduled directly in chat, and posts with graphics move to SocialPost.ai's scheduler, which recommends a posting time for each platform based on audience engagement across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and TikTok.
Approval before anything publishes: Every post created through the connector waits in SocialPost.ai for the owner's sign-off, with a 10-minute window to cancel a scheduled post, a one-step disconnect, and publishing through each social platform's official APIs.
"The simplest way to think about it is a content team working inside the AI a business already uses," said Mohan Kumar, Senior Product Manager at SocialPost.ai. "The AI writes the post. SocialPost.ai adds the image, formats it for each platform, and schedules it with a timing recommendation. The owner approves. That is work that previously required an agency or a full-time social media hire."
Why It Matters
AI assistants can already write a post, and some can publish one. What they do not handle is the work between the draft and the feed: the image, the per-platform formatting, the timing, and the owner's final say. That is the layer the SocialPost.ai connector addresses.
"I built SocialPost so small businesses could run the same content operation larger brands run, without hiring for it," Henson said. "The MCP connector moves that work into the AI chat owners already use."
Availability
The SocialPost.ai MCP connector is live today for all Solo and Pro plan users. A setup guide is available at socialpost.ai/mcp. Connecting a custom connector in Claude requires a paid Claude plan, per Anthropic's requirements. The connector covers social media posts; team workflows and advanced features remain in the SocialPost.ai web app.
