Company Update
New systems will modernize finance, human resources, payroll, procurement, budgeting, and grants administration
WINDOW ROCK, AZ / ACCESS Newswire / October 6, 2026 / The Navajo Nation will launch new enterprise systems on Monday, Oct. 5, marking a major milestone in the Nation's effort to modernize government operations and improve services for the Navajo people.
The launch is part of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modernization initiative announced in January 2025. The Nation is implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Dayforce HCM, and Performa BIDS to support financial management, human resources, payroll, procurement, budgeting, and grants administration.
The initiative brings technology, policies, and business processes together to meet the needs of one of the largest tribal governments in the United States. The Nation aligned its new systems with updated laws and policies, including procurement workflows that guide how requests, approvals, and funds move across departments. This approach will help standardize government operations while preserving the Navajo Nation's authority over its data and decisions and strengthening accountability and financial stewardship.
The new systems are designed to reduce paper-based processing, hand delivery of documents, and travel between offices. Contracts, requisitions, budget changes, and payments will move through more consistent digital workflows. More timely access to financial, workforce, and budget information will also help leaders monitor activity, address delays, and make informed decisions.
The secure cloud-based systems will help protect sensitive financial and employee information while supporting the Navajo Nation's requirements for how its data is governed, accessed, and used.
"This go-live reflects the vision and direction of the Office of the President and Vice President and the Navajo Nation Council to strengthen how the Navajo Nation serves its people," said Navajo Nation Controller Sean McCabe. "By modernizing our policies, processes, and systems together, we are building a more accountable, efficient, and sustainable government while protecting the Nation's sovereignty and authority over its data. This milestone also reflects the commitment of employees across the Nation who have spent many months preparing for this moment and building a stronger foundation for future generations."
The Oct. 5 launch was recognized with a celebration in Window Rock honoring Navajo Nation employees and project partners who contributed to the initiative. Employees from across the Nation supported process reviews, system design, data preparation, testing, training, and launch readiness.
"It is a tremendous honor for Arctic IT to stand alongside the Navajo Nation in one of the most significant government modernization efforts in Indian Country," said Thomas Mercer, President and General Manager of Doyon Technology Group. "We have deep respect for the Nation, the direction its leaders have set, and their commitment to sovereignty, accountability, and better service for the Navajo people. This work is not simply about implementing new technology. It is about helping bring that vision to life and building a foundation that will serve the Nation for generations to come."
This launch follows the fall 2025 implementation of the Navajo Nation's vital records and enrollment system using Arctic IT's Tribal Platforms. The system consolidated citizen information into a secure source for authorized offices and now enables many service and enrollment requests to be completed in minutes rather than days or weeks. Self-service kiosks handle more than half of agency office requests, while streamlined processes support faster issuance of tribal and veteran identification cards and improved access to services and benefits.
Arctic IT led the overall modernization initiative and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Tribal Platforms. AXL Global led the Dayforce implementation for recruiting, human resources, and payroll. The Performa Group configured its BIDS platform to support budgeting and grants management.
