Company Update
Detroit-based. Phase 1 complete. Built as the counter-thesis to AI job displacement. Public launch in sixty days.
DETROIT, MI / ACCESS Newswire / May 26, 2026 / MiSpy.ai, the world's first on-demand private investigation marketplace, today announced completion of Phase 1 development. The company has been built as a founder-funded business. Public launch is scheduled within the next sixty days.
"Everyone deserves truth. We built MiSpy.ai because the wrong people were going to build it if we didn't. The version they would have built harvests user data and pretends to help when it goes wrong. We refused that build, deliberately." - Ryan Boylan, Founder and CEO of MiSpy.ai
The Counter-Thesis: AI That Creates Jobs
The launch arrives at a moment when most AI coverage centers on job displacement. The World Economic Forum projects 92 million roles lost to displacement by 2030, alongside 170 million new roles created over the same period. MiSpy.ai is built on the side of the creation. The platform takes a licensed, regulated profession with approximately 43,600 U.S. practitioners today and turns it into a marketplace built to scale licensed-investigator participation as demand grows. Investigators on the platform earn professional rates, work missions matched to their expertise, and operate inside a documented compliance framework.
"AI should elevate skilled human work, not flatten it. Every conclusion on this platform is signed by a licensed human who saw the evidence. Pie, our AI engine, supports intake and matching. The investigator authors the conclusion." - Boylan
How MiSpy.ai Works
Users, known as Assets, describe their situation to Pie, MiSpy.ai's AI intelligence engine, or step through a manual intake. Pie analyzes the request, identifies the appropriate mission type, and connects the Asset with a vetted, licensed private investigator known as a Ghost.
At launch, MiSpy.ai supports three mission types:
Quick Hit. Time-bounded, location-confirmed presence or wellness verifications. Typical use cases include checking on an elderly relative, confirming a contractor has arrived at a job site, or running a safety check when someone has gone off-grid.
Light Surveillance. Short-form behavioral verification within legally permitted scope. Typical use cases include custody dispute documentation, caregiver verification, pre-litigation due diligence, and insurance fraud investigation. Every mission requires Pie's compliance review before activation.
Full Investigation. Multi-day, deeper investigations for complex, open-ended questions including background and identity verification, fraud triage, missing-person inquiries, and detailed due diligence.
Compliance Built In, Not Bolted On
MiSpy.ai's investigators are state-licensed PIs, verified through the same licensing infrastructure courts and law enforcement rely on. Every Ghost is vetted against the jurisdictional requirements where they operate.
Pie's guardrails actively block requests outside lawful use. Stalking, harassment, doxxing, surveillance of protected categories, and unlawful tracking are refused at the request layer, before a Ghost is ever assigned. Assets and Ghosts never exchange personal information. Every mission action is logged. Every piece of evidence moves through an auditable chain from intake through final review.
"We built MiSpy.ai to help people understand their world, not violate anyone else's. The version of this technology that gets used for stalking, harassment, government overreach, or extractive surveillance simply cannot run on this platform. That was not an afterthought. It was the architecture from day one." - Boylan
Phase 1 Complete. Launch Within Sixty Days.
MiSpy.ai's Phase 1 platform is fully built, including mission creation, AI-guided intake, Ghost verification and matching, secure in-app messaging, evidence upload and review, AI-supported debrief, payout systems for Ghosts, and the full compliance and moderation layer. Public launch is scheduled within sixty days.
Phase 2 and Phase 3: Global Expansion and Workforce Development
Phase 2 expands MiSpy.ai internationally. The architecture was built from day one to scale across jurisdictions as regulatory approvals allow, with eventual access to a global investigation and security services market projected by The Business Research Company at $571.46 billion by 2030.
Phase 3 introduces Ghost Workshops, a workforce development layer that turns experienced investigators into educators on the platform. Tenured Ghosts teach the next wave, creating a self-reinforcing pipeline of trained licensed professionals.
Phase 2 and Phase 3 also expand the AI tooling available to Ghosts. MiSpy.ai is evaluating potential integrations across digital forensics, intelligence tooling, and compliance infrastructure, all under the same human-signed, compliance-reviewed model the platform launches with.
"Phase 1 makes the marketplace real. Phase 2 and Phase 3 are where MiSpy.ai becomes infrastructure for an entirely new category of work. What's in this release is what we built. What isn't in this release is what you're already starting to wonder about. We didn't ask permission to build this. We don't plan to start now." - Boylan
