MARIETTA, GA / ACCESS Newswire / October 7, 2026 / Epoch Batteries has launched the 12V 460Ah V2-T Elite Series battery with a 400A Eaton Class T fuse housed inside the pack. The design gives RV and marine system builders a serviceable fuse at the battery while retaining the 460Ah capacity, monitoring, and communication features listed for the V2-T model.

In a large 12V installation, fuse placement becomes part of the layout before a cable is cut. The 12V 460Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery puts the specified Class T device within the case. An installer can plan the space around the terminals without automatically reserving a separate external Class T holder at that location. Other wiring still needs protection suited to the installation.

The "T" designation refers to that integrated fuse, which Epoch identifies as an Eaton 400A unit. A Class T fuse is intended to interrupt high fault current; it is a different component from the battery management system, which monitors operating conditions and can limit or disconnect the pack. If the fuse opens, replacing it without finding the fault that caused it could leave the underlying problem in place. Epoch's technical guidance specifies the replacement type rather than treating any 400A fuse as interchangeable.

That distinction is relevant to anyone specifying a 12V lithium battery with integrated Class T fuse. It also explains why the fuse should not be presented as a substitute for protection elsewhere in an RV or boat. Branch circuits, inverter cabling, disconnects, and the route taken by conductors still need attention. On a vessel, the final installation must be checked against the applicable marine electrical requirements; a feature built into one battery cannot certify the whole boat.

The 12V 460Ah V2-T LiFePO4 battery stores a stated 5,888Wh, or about 5.89kWh, at its nominal 12.8V. The continuous discharge rating of the pack is 230A at 25°C, as offered by Epoch. The short-duration rating is higher, but the latter, for the selection of the inverter, is dependent on the loads to be connected and on the overall wiring configuration. Those numbers describe the battery under published conditions, rather than a guarantee of how long any particular appliance will run.

An owner considering a 12V 460Ah RV lithium battery may be replacing a collection of smaller lead-acid units. The V2-T fits a Group 8D-size footprint and weighs approximately 97 pounds. Space above the terminals, the existing battery tray, and the route for the new cables should be measured before a replacement is planned. The charging source also needs a LiFePO4-compatible setup. A battery with the right physical dimensions may still require changes elsewhere in the electrical system.

A 12V 460Ah marine lithium battery faces a different working environment. Battery compartments can be damp, confined, or difficult to inspect after other equipment has been installed. Epoch rates the V2-T enclosure IP67 and supplies an external power button and gauge. The enclosure rating concerns the battery case; installers must separately consider connected equipment, cable entries and mounting. Internal heating supports charging in cold conditions, subject to the limits in the manual.

The model is also described as a Victron-compatible 12V 460Ah battery. Through CANbus, it can report battery information to supported Victron GX equipment when the harness and DVCC settings are configured as Epoch directs. A nearby user can view state of charge, cell voltage, and temperature through the Epoch Bluetooth app. These monitoring options serve different purposes: the GX connection helps a configured power system manage charging, while the app offers a local view of the pack.

Epoch identifies the unit as a UL 1973-certified battery pack and says the completed model is UL Listed. A purchaser searching for a UL Listed 12V 460Ah lithium battery should check the listing against model C12460A-A, rather than relying on a cell or fuse certificate alone. The same check applies when specifying a UL 1973 Listed LiFePO4 battery. The pack's certification and the fuse's own documentation address different parts of the assembly.

The Epoch 12V 460Ah V2-T Elite Series carries an 11-year limited warranty under the company's published terms. Manuals and the fuse technical bulletin are available from its product page. Epoch Batteries supplies batteries, chargers, and related equipment for marine, RV, golf cart, and off-grid applications, with U.S.-based support for product and installation questions.
