The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued US Patent No. 12675535 on July 7, 2026 to Bonny Broom LLC for its Method, System & Computer Program Product for Semantic Search Within An AI-Enabled Digital Historical Archive. The patented technology combines AI-powered transcription, semantic search, and a continuous feedback loop to score transcription quality and search accuracy. Videlicet uses that data to train the underlying model over time. The result: researchers gain access to accurately transcribed documents soon, find better search results faster, and increase system accuracy. In testing, the technology has reduced research time by at least 50% compared to traditional archive search methods.
The patent is integrated into Videlicet, Bonny Broom's digital humanities software platform.
