Robert Nikic's new book, Problems Pay, argues that every problem is either costing a man or paying him, and most men can't tell which. It shows them how to see their problems, price them and collect what they pay.
TAMPA, FL / ACCESS Newswire / October 21, 2026 / TEDx speaker Robert Nikic shows men how to make every problem pay, today announced Problems Pay: What No One Taught Men About Handling Problems, and How to Make Every One of Them Pay. The book, released this month, teaches men to identify, price and resolve the problems they carry.
The problem
According to Nikic, most men don't know what their problems are costing them, and many don't know what their problems are. "People don't attach dollar signs to them," Nikic writes, "so they never understand what each one is costing." In his view, the real cost is rarely the number a man sees. A postponed repair, he writes, ends up "costing you the car on the day you need it most." The employee he can't afford to replace is "priced at a severance check and costing you the three good people who'll leave because of him."
Nikic argues that no problem stands still. A bad job becomes a missed car payment, then missed rent. Left long enough, he writes, it becomes "not being able to pay for your mother's heart surgery." In Equimundo's State of American Men 2025 survey, more than half of U.S. men said "no one really knows me."
What the book solves
Problems Pay teaches men to see their problems clearly, price them honestly and handle them so they pay. Its central rule: "Every problem has a price, and every problem pays. You're either paying the price or collecting the payment." Handled the right way, Nikic writes, a problem pays back in information, a second chance and, eventually, money, time and respect.
How it works
The book sets out six moves to use the moment a problem lands: acknowledge it without blame, own it, find the root, put a real price on it, make the smallest move into uncertainty, and make the lesson stick. Each chapter ends with one action to take that day. "A man with a problem doesn't need a lecture," Nikic writes. "He needs the next move."
How Nikic applied it
Living by the method shaped Nikic as a leader who stands where the information is, not where the report is. When he takes over a struggling team, he gets everyone in a room and asks the hard questions nobody wants to say out loud. "Most of the time, the answers were in that room the whole time," he writes. "Nobody had asked."
Today he applies the same method to problems beyond his own. He advises an international council whose work is framed around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 8 and 9. His focus is the basics that decide whether small businesses survive: getting paid on time, fair access to credit and simpler rules for starting out. "Once you learn to collect on your own problems, you get to collect on other people's," he writes. "There's no bigger payoff."
