TAMPA, FL / ACCESS Newswire / October 8, 2026 / Marquis Who's Who is proud to honor William "Bill" Sefekar for his distinguished contributions to education, writing, music, public access television and positive community storytelling. This recognition reflects a five-decade journey shaped by intellectual curiosity, creative energy, faith, family values and a commitment to encouraging others to believe. As he often tells students and audiences, "You can do it."

Mr. Sefekar is a writer, teacher and musician with Hillsborough County Public Schools, following earlier service with Pinellas County Schools. Over the past 17 years, he has taught students across grade levels and subject areas, bringing not only academic instruction into the classroom but also music, books, stories and life lessons. He is known for carrying his guitar and his books into classes, using them as tools to inspire connection, creativity and confidence among students of many ages.

Speaking with Marquis Who's Who, he shared that his approach to teaching reflects a deep belief in reaching students where they are. Over the years, Mr. Sefekar has received countless notes, pictures and responses from students, affirming the impact of his encouragement and his ability to make learning personal. Whether substitute teaching, presenting in classrooms or participating in community programs, he strives to communicate a message of hope, perseverance and possibility.

In addition to his educational career, Mr. Sefekar is an accomplished author. His book "Light: Courage and Hope," published in 2010, recounts the inspiring stories of 10 righteous nations that helped save Jewish lives during the Holocaust. The book led to a reception at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C., attended by ambassadors and dignitaries. It was a profound moment in Mr. Sefekar's life and literary journey.

His second book, "American Dreamer: A Look into the Life of My Father, Joe Baby," published in 2017, is a heartfelt tribute to his father, a war hero and influential figure who contributed to major construction projects, including as the administrator in the building of The Hirshhorn Museum on the National Mall. For this accomplishment, Mr. Sefekar's father was cited in the 1975 edition of Who's Who in Government. He was also recognized for his work on the Performing Arts Center in Clearwater, Florida.

Mr. Sefekar is currently working on his third book, "It Worked 4 Me," a personal and inspirational work reflecting on the people, lessons and moments that shaped his life. Notably, the book received a personal blessing from the late General Colin Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State and author of the similarly titled book "It Worked for Me."

Music is equally central to Mr. Sefekar's life. His YouTube channel, The Bill Sefekar Experience, features more than 60 broadcasts and 140 musical recordings. Through the channel, he shares songs, stories and reflections rooted in positivity, mindfulness and giving back. He is currently scheduled to be performing his "Mood Message Music" at local venues.

Mr. Sefekar has also contributed to Public Access Television as a producer and director, further demonstrating his long-standing interest in using media to educate, entertain and uplift audiences. He remains active as a presenter for local Friends of the Library and Meet the Author events, where he shares his writing journey and encourages others to pursue their own creative projects.

Mr. Sefekar credits his success with the values instilled by his parents and family. He describes his father as intelligent, responsible, caring and an ideal mentor, and his mother as a nurturing woman of common sense and strength. His grandmother's resilience also left a lasting impression on him. Together, those influences helped form the foundation for a life devoted to teaching, writing, music and service. "It goes back to my roots, my birthright ... There's a spirit that guides me and a light that shines on me," he said.

"William ‘Bill' Sefekar exemplifies the caliber of educator, storyteller and creative professional Marquis Who's Who is proud to chronicle," the editorial team stated. "His work in education, authorship, music and positive media reflects a career defined by faith, perseverance and a generous desire to inspire others." Through its recognition of Mr. Sefekar, Marquis Who's Who celebrates a professional whose life's work continues to uplift students, readers, viewers and listeners.
