HOUSTON, TX / ACCESS Newswire / October 8, 2026 / Marquis Who's Who is proud to recognize Faraz Ahmad, FEI, for his distinguished contributions to energy, digital infrastructure and power strategy. With a career defined by systems thinking, strategic foresight and an ability to bridge the worlds of energy and technology, Mr. Ahmad has focused increasingly on one of the defining infrastructure challenges of the coming decades: developing the energy systems required to support continued technological and economic progress.

Mr. Ahmad currently serves as Head of Energy and Infrastructure at Thor Equities Group, where he works at the intersection of energy, digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence. His role comes at a pivotal moment. The rapid growth of AI, data centers and electrified systems is creating unprecedented requirements for electricity infrastructure and placing renewed emphasis on the availability, reliability and affordability of power.
For Mr. Ahmad, the challenge is not simply to produce more electricity, but to develop energy systems capable of supporting technological growth while remaining reliable, economically competitive and increasingly sustainable. It is this connection between energy systems and human progress that makes the field particularly rewarding.
"The technologies may change, but the importance of the underlying challenge does not," Mr. Ahmad said in an interview with Marquis Who's Who. "Energy is fundamental to human progress, and today it is one of the critical enablers of AI and digital infrastructure. How we develop and deploy that infrastructure will influence economic growth, technological advancement, public health, environmental outcomes and, ultimately, the opportunities available to future generations."
Before joining Thor Equities Group, Mr. Ahmad served as Head of Net Zero Grid at Amazon from 2022 to 2025. In that capacity, he worked to secure reliable, affordable and decarbonized electricity for Amazon's operations while advancing the company's long-term climate goals.
Among his proudest accomplishments is his critical contribution to Amazon's nuclear energy strategy. The initiative helped move the company beyond a renewables-only approach toward a broader carbon-free electricity strategy that recognized the need for firm, scalable sources of clean power. His work included engagement with the U.S. Department of Energy and due diligence with Amazon's Climate Pledge Fund.
A defining milestone was Amazon's anchor role in the $500 million investment in X-energy, a U.S.-based developer of small modular reactor technology. The transaction helped establish a new model for direct involvement by major technology companies in the development of advanced nuclear energy and contributed to renewed momentum around deploying nuclear power to serve rapidly growing electricity demand.
Mr. Ahmad's career has increasingly centered on understanding these interconnected systems and developing strategies that account simultaneously for technology, energy markets, infrastructure development and long-term economic requirements.
His perspective has been shaped by a career spanning supply chain, project development, electricity, retail energy and digital infrastructure. Rather than viewing those transitions as separate chapters, Mr. Ahmad sees them as part of a process of continually expanding his understanding of complex systems.
He describes his approach as the "power of 1 percent": the discipline of making small but consistent improvements in knowledge, judgment and execution. "I have consistently applied this 1 percent growth principle," he said. "Small, consistent improvements accumulate over time."
That philosophy has also shaped his response to the unexpected challenges, setbacks and complexity that inevitably occur. Over time, the accumulation of experience across multiple segments of the energy value chain has allowed him to operate at an increasingly important intersection between energy, technology and infrastructure.
"Faraz Ahmad exemplifies the caliber of energy and infrastructure leader Marquis Who's Who is proud to chronicle," the editorial team stated. "His work at the intersection of electricity, digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence reflects a career characterized by strategic vision, resilience and a commitment to building the systems required for a cleaner, more reliable and technologically advanced future."
As AI and other advanced technologies become increasingly embedded in the global economy, the physical infrastructure supporting them will assume even greater importance. Through its recognition of Mr. Ahmad, Marquis Who's Who celebrates a professional whose career reflects an increasingly consequential reality: The technologies of the future will ultimately depend upon the energy systems capable of powering them.
