Appointment reflects Facility Network's support for industry leadership and the advancement of Canada's facility management profession
TORONTO, ON / ACCESS Newswire / August 27, 2026 / Facility Network is pleased to recognize the appointment of Andy Rutledge as President of the International Facility Management Association's Greater Toronto & South Central Ontario Chapter. The volunteer appointment reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the facility management profession through education, collaboration, mentorship and knowledge sharing.
Rutledge has been actively involved with IFMA since 2018, progressing through several volunteer and leadership roles. His service has included Chair of the Young Professionals Committee, Vice President of Programming & Education, and Regional Representative for Canada on IFMA's Americas Young Professional Board.
His contributions have also received industry recognition. Rutledge was named the chapter's Volunteer of the Year in 2022 and received IFMA's Young Professional of the Year award in 2023. He was also part of the Greater Toronto & South Central Ontario Chapter leadership team when the chapter was named IFMA's 2023 Large Chapter of the Year, recognizing its programming, leadership and contribution to the facility management community.

As President, Rutledge will focus on expanding professional development, strengthening connections across the FM community and promoting facility management as a recognized and rewarding career. Priorities include increasing access to IFMA education and credentials, such as the FMP, SFP and CFM, supporting mentorship and emerging professionals, and exploring opportunities to bring FM education directly into corporate and workplace settings.
Rutledge recently joined leaders from 10 of IFMA's largest chapters at the Chapter Leadership Exchange in Houston, Texas, where participants shared ideas on common challenges and ways chapters can collectively strengthen the industry.
The Toronto chapter holds a distinctive place in IFMA's history. Chartered in 1982 as the association's first chapter outside the United States, its creation prompted the National Facility Management Association to become the International Facility Management Association, reflecting the organization's expanding international reach.
Rutledge's volunteer leadership complements his role at Facility Network by keeping him connected to the priorities, innovations and evolving challenges facing facility professionals across Ontario and beyond. Facility Network supports his continued involvement and broader contribution to the Canadian FM profession.
