Company Update

LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG / ACCESS Newswire / September 8, 2026 / Financial Services Luxembourg SARL-S today announced an integrated Odoo service model designed to connect operational workflows with Luxembourg accounting and reporting requirements. The offering brings together ERP configuration, accounting oversight, VAT workflows, Peppol e-invoicing, data migration, team training and financial reporting for SMEs, entrepreneurs, holdings, SOPARFI structures and multi-entity organisations.

The service model connects ERP workflows with Luxembourg accounting, VAT, Peppol e-invoicing, migration, training and financial reporting.

The firm positions the service as a coordinated accounting and ERP engagement rather than a software-only implementation. Sales, purchasing, invoicing, payments, documents and reporting can be organised in a shared environment, while accounting judgements and regulatory obligations remain subject to professional review.

"The real value of Odoo is not simply replacing one accounting interface with another. It is creating a controlled flow from the underlying business transaction to the accounting record and the management report," said Mickaël LOC, Managing Director of Financial Services Luxembourg. "That flow still needs the right Luxembourg chart of accounts, VAT logic, controls and professional oversight."

Connecting Odoo with Luxembourg accounting

Odoo accounting in Luxembourg combines an ERP environment with Luxembourg accounting, VAT and financial-reporting processes. A suitable implementation may include the standardised chart of accounts, Lux GAAP workflows, VAT configuration, audit-file readiness, eCDF-related reporting processes and management reporting. The exact configuration depends on the organisation, transaction types and reporting obligations.

Working within the client's ERP can reduce repeated transfers between operational and accounting systems. However, automation does not remove responsibility for data quality, supporting documentation, reconciliations or professional review. Financial Services Luxembourg therefore distinguishes technical integration from accounting responsibility.

Preparing for structured e-invoicing and Peppol

Peppol e-invoicing in Luxembourg enables structured invoice data to be exchanged through an interoperable network rather than relying only on a conventional PDF. Financial Services Luxembourg supports customer-data preparation, invoice settings, workflow design and the connection between electronic invoicing, accounting and payment processes.

Luxembourg completed the phased introduction of structured electronic invoicing for suppliers covered by public-procurement requirements in March 2023. At EU level, the European Commission states that the VAT in the Digital Age digital-reporting requirements will affect cross-border B2B transactions from July 1, 2030. These developments make structured data and reliable accounting configuration increasingly important.

"Electronic invoicing should be treated as a data and control project, not merely as a change in invoice format," LOC said. "Customer identifiers, VAT treatment, source data, approval rules and accounting entries have to work together if the organisation wants reliable reporting."

Managing Luxembourg VAT within the ERP

Luxembourg VAT configuration in Odoo requires more than entering the country's 17%, 14%, 8% and 3% VAT rates. Product and service classifications, customer and supplier status, fiscal positions, place-of-supply rules, intra-EU transactions, reverse-charge treatment, VIES checks and OSS considerations may also affect the configuration and resulting returns.

The Luxembourg Indirect Tax Authority confirms the four national VAT rates currently in force. The tax treatment applicable to a transaction nevertheless depends on its facts. The ERP configuration should therefore be tested against actual transaction scenarios before go-live.

A seven-stage migration methodology

For organisations moving from Sage BOB, WinBooks or another legacy platform, Financial Services Luxembourg uses a staged process: (1) scope and data audit; (2) chart-of-accounts and master-data mapping; (3) controlled extraction and migration; (4) reconciliation of balances and ledgers; (5) parallel testing where appropriate; (6) go-live; and (7) post-migration review.

Depending on the agreed scope and data quality, migration can cover opening balances, customers, suppliers, fixed assets, analytical dimensions and detailed accounting history. Legacy information may remain available in read-only form where appropriate. The firm does not present a fixed migration volume as suitable for every project; the scope is determined after a data assessment.

Training based on real workflows, with data safeguards

Training can be organised by role for accounting, sales, purchasing and management teams. Where a client-specific environment is used, access controls and appropriate security or anonymisation measures are applied according to the data involved. Recorded sessions may also support internal onboarding and process continuity.

Supporting holdings, SOPARFI companies and multi-entity groups

Odoo can support multi-company, multi-currency and analytical workflows while preserving separate records and access rights for each legal entity. It can also contribute data to intragroup monitoring, management reporting and consolidation processes. Whether Odoo is appropriate depends on the group structure, transaction complexity, reporting expectations and the wider systems environment.

Financial Services Luxembourg maintains a software-agnostic approach. Sage BOB, WinBooks, Horus or other platforms may remain suitable when requirements are primarily accounting-led. Odoo becomes more relevant when a business needs to connect accounting with CRM, sales, purchasing, inventory, projects, e-commerce, manufacturing or other operational processes.

"We do not recommend Odoo by default," said Mickaël LOC. "The decision should follow the business model, the control environment and the reporting need. A simpler accounting platform can be the better choice when operational integration would add complexity without creating measurable value."
