FeatherOS Seeks First U.S. Pilot Farms to Test Early-Detection System for Broiler Poultry Operations

California-based agtech initiative founded by Dmytro Rozhko is developing an operational monitoring system designed to help poultry producers identify changes in bird behavior, housing conditions, and production processes at an earlier stage.
CARLSBAD, CA / ACCESS Newswire / July 28, 2026 / FeatherOS, an early-stage technology initiative focused on commercial poultry production, has begun seeking its first pilot and industry partner farms in the United States.
The project is developing an operational monitoring system for broiler houses that combines computer vision, sensors, environmental monitoring, and AI-assisted tools. Its purpose is to help operators identify behavioral, production, and environmental deviations earlier and receive alerts connected to a specific location and time.
FeatherOS was founded by Dmytro Rozhko, an agricultural operator, consultant, and entrepreneur with experience managing poultry and livestock businesses in Ukraine and the United States.
Over the course of his career, Rozhko has worked in commercial poultry production, feed manufacturing, meat processing, farm management, and production process optimization. He relocated to California in 2022, but the challenge of receiving operational information too late remained relevant in the new production environment.

"The most difficult part was not interpreting the numbers. The most difficult part was knowing that by the time a number changed, the underlying cause had already existed for a day and a half somewhere inside a poultry house where I was not present at that moment," said Dmytro Rozhko, founder and CEO of FeatherOS.
From Aggregated Metrics to Specific Operational Events
Traditional reporting systems often present an aggregated result for an entire flock, shift, or poultry house. FeatherOS is exploring the possibility of moving from generalized indicators toward specific operational signals.
For example, instead of receiving a notification stating that "flock activity has decreased by 12%," an operator could receive an observation such as: "Birds in the southwest section of the poultry house have demonstrated reduced activity since the evening."
This approach may help operators respond more quickly to changes in bird activity or behavior, localized mortality signals, deviations in temperature, humidity, or air quality, equipment malfunctions, unusual changes in feed or water consumption, and specific areas of a poultry house that may require additional inspection.
FeatherOS is not positioned as an autonomous farm management system. At its current stage, it is an operational observation and early-detection tool intended to complement the experience of farm personnel and integrate into existing production processes.
Current Stage of Development
FeatherOS is currently seeking pilot partners and conducting operational validation. The team is focused not on developing artificial intelligence in isolation, but on testing the system under real production conditions.
Current work includes collecting data inside an operating poultry house, testing cameras and sensors, observing behavioral and environmental deviations, evaluating equipment performance under real operating loads, integrating the system into operators' daily routines, and studying requirements related to reliability, maintenance, and deployment in commercial production environments.
Data for the system's initial validation is already being collected at an operating poultry facility in Ukraine owned by the project's founder. In May 2026, a U.S. provisional patent application was filed covering selected elements of FeatherOS's operational and sensor-based approach.
The next stage is expected to involve testing the technology in a U.S. broiler production environment.
"We are building the system alongside the people who work inside poultry houses every day. A pilot must show what the system can actually detect, what it misses, and how it can be integrated into an operator's real workflow. That is precisely why field validation is necessary," Rozhko said.
Seeking Pilot Partners in the United States
FeatherOS is seeking a limited number of U.S. pilot and industry partner farms willing to participate in testing and the collaborative refinement of the system.
The project is interested in working with independent poultry farm operators, owners and managers of broiler farms, regional poultry producers, teams interested in the practical testing of emerging technologies, and farms prepared to provide feedback on daily operational processes.
The pilot stage will focus on evaluating technical reliability, the quality of system observations, ease of use, and the practical value of the platform for farm operators.
At this stage, FeatherOS is not claiming guaranteed return on investment, fully autonomous farm management, readiness for large-scale commercial deployment, or guaranteed improvements in production performance.
The project's primary objective is to validate the technology responsibly under field conditions and understand its real-world limitations before pursuing broader market deployment.
