The Charity Provides Donated School Supplies to Children in the Tri-County Area
Savannah, GA / ACCESSWIRE / September 9, 2014 / Vacation Inspirations, a company that provides leisure services to clients planning the perfect vacation, recently announced its decision to commit to Teacher’s Supply Closet, a charity that ensures children in the tri-county area have the proper supplies for school. The travel services company is proud to lend its support to the South Carolina charity, especially because it is fully dedicated to helping charities focused on children.
Teacher’s Supply Closet is a non-profit organization that works with schools where 86 percent of students are participants in the free or reduced lunch program. The program accepts donations of school supplies, new and gently used office and art supplies, extra inventory, slightly damaged goods, and tradeshow products—all of which are made available for teachers to use with their students. Additionally, Teacher’s Supply Closet also accepts cash donations. At this time, 95 cents of every donated dollar is put into a fund that directly supports educators and pupils.
Although the charity helps 36 schools at the 88-percent poverty index, its goal is to expand its program to include schools at the 70-percent poverty index. This would mean that it could help 1,200 teachers and 24,000 students. Vacation Inspirations is fully committed to helping Teacher’s Supply Closet reach its expansion goal.
