The Android App, which is Available at No Cost, Screens Calls and Sends Callers an Auto-Reply
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / September 9, 2015 / Movie Mode, a free app that lets people enjoy a movie, game or other activity in peace and quiet, has just been officially launched.
In describing how it works, Adrian Herrera, creator of the Movie Mode Android app, explained that it screens all incoming calls and sends callers an auto-reply. However, so people will not miss calls from the babysitter or others they wish to speak with, the application will allow emergency calls to get through.
"The idea of Movie Mode came when I was out one night, and as a single dad, I'd worry every time I would get a text from home thinking there's an emergency," Herrera said.
"I knew it was bothering other people around me. That experience compelled me to develop an app that would help users manage their notifications and phone alerts."
The Android Movie Mode app, which people may download for free, may also be used in a variety of other instances, including during work meetings, while streaming video, playing video games or attending a wedding or funeral. People will never have to worry again about answering what turns out to be an annoying call from a telemarketer during a movie, which will not only annoy the people sitting around them but will also cause them to miss out on a few minutes of the story.
As Herrera explained, the Movie Mode app, which acts as a personal secretary, also keeps a log of everyone who tried to contact the person while the app was enabled.
"When app is activated and someone calls or messages you, the app will automatically let the person trying to contact you that you are not available and will contact them when you are available," he said.
"In case of emergency and you really need to be reached, the other person may send you a message with emergency unlock code that will allow calls and text messages to reach your phone."
