ATLANTA, GA / ACCESSWIRE / May 1, 2023 / Retired NBA Player Kwame Brown, with a thirteen-year tenure playing alongside basketball legends Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson and more, is set to bring his story to television with a series inspired by his life titled, "The Bust".
"The Bust" follows rising basketball star and first overall draft pick Elijah Bryant Jr., who suffers a severe injury upon signing his rookie contract and struggles to live up to the hype of a reputation that precedes him in the wake of an injury that threatens to end his career before it begins. Labeled a bust, Elijah fights to overcome scrutiny from the league, teammates, and the world while balancing newfound fame, money, politics, and problems which proves to be quite the feat.
The combination of Brown's humble upbringing, undeniable talent, unique experience, wit, and humor, contribute to the makings of a compelling story that gives an intimate look at the world of professional basketball through the lens of a young man that survived insurmountable odds, both on and off the court.
"The Bust" is slated to go into production this summer; it was co-created by Adrian Jules, a screenwriter, and director represented by Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment, and will be executive produced by Brown.
