Allows for wage increases and the creation of a Lifestyle Department
POINCIANA, FL / ACCESSWIRE / October 17, 2016 / The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV), Florida's largest homeowners association, has approved its 2017 budget. The budget was passed by the Board of Directors at APV's October 11 board meeting.
"We are proud to announce that for the sixth year in a row our community's annual membership fee will remain unchanged at $252 per lot," said Mark Maldonado, General Manager of APV. "At APV, we truly value our residents and staff and we are excited for all of the many wonderful things happening in our community."
In addition to this news, the 2017 budget includes an increase in wages and salaries for APV employees. Minimum wage is being increased to $10 per hour and employees who receive salaries will also receive raises. The budget also includes a new three-year contract for FirstService Residential, which has expertly managed the community since 2013.
"We look forward to continuing the successful relationship we have established with the FirstService Residential team," said Dottie McStay, APV Executive Board President. "We are all excited for the future and what we can accomplish together."
One of the most exciting parts of the budget is the creation of an official Lifestyle Department, led by APV Lifestyle Director Jazz Cannon. Cannon has been coordinating and planning events since March of this year, but the creation of an official department will allow for a bigger budget, a larger team and more resources.
"We want to continue to embrace the sense of community at APV and provide entertaining and engaging events for our residents," said Cannon. "In just a few short months, our event attendance has grown from 180 people at our Easter Egg Hunt to more than 2,000 people expected at our upcoming Halloween event. I have seen first hand the positive changes that coordinated events and programs can make in a community this large and I am thrilled to bring many new offerings to our residents."
APV has had several new developments at its activities campus, including the construction of a new pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, concession stand, activity building and the renovation of an indoor basketball court. These facilities and programs are now being utilized at maximum capacity by residents. Additionally, the Association's multi-million dollar strategic alliance with Osceola County Parks and Recreation will see the completion of the Poinciana Villages Aquatics Center at Vance Harmon Park in the spring of 2017, which will feature an Olympic-style swimming pool and diving facilities.
