LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 10, 2022 / Exclusivity, distinctive style, and a sense of community engrained in the streetwear fashion industry; could NFTs be providing the same experience for their holders that brands like BAPE and Supreme have been offering since the late ‘90s? In an increasingly competitive NFT space filled with projects trying to emulate the success of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Crash Test Joyride (CTJR) have recognized this parallel and are building their unique brand around the idea of fluidly blending the physical world of fashion with the digital space of NFTs. "For CTJR, it's about building a universe both online and in the flesh. We want you to fall in love with the look of your Joyrider, then we want to give you that style to wear" says artist and cofounder DL the ARCHITECT (DL).

CTJR is an NFT project-turned cultural phenomenon that is moving fluidly between the physical and the digital realms. Represented by 4,444 profile picture-style images, CTJR is pushing the boundaries of a typical NFT project by releasing their visual ideas in limited digital form, and following up with physical launches of curated clothing, fashion, and merchandise lines that will also be available for sale.

"As a brand, we feel freed from the traditional boundaries of digital versus physical," says DL. "We define ourselves by the ability to launch streetwear, reflect that streetwear in our digital assets, and make a smooth flow between the two worlds where our brand can exist naturally and simultaneously."

DL is both a cofounder and the creative director behind CTJR. He is a practicing architect working out of Brooklyn, NY, though he remains pseudonymous à la the English street-artist Banksy.
Each of the NFT images is hand-drawn and then algorithmically combined to curate the character's assets such as clothing, skin color, and background, rendering a bold and completely unique expression to each ‘Joyrider'. "The NFT world is saturated and full of innovative ideas and compelling projects, so we knew we had to make something valuable, unique, and true to ourselves." After the first successful launch of the NFT collection, CTJR is jumping right into a physical merchandise drop in their online store. "We see our fashion label not just as an extension of our NFT collection, but as an independent entity that can stand on its own," says DL. The project will continue to collaborate with high-quality clothing manufacturers, brand partners, and influential figures or artists who fit with the vision of the project.

"We are all about positivity and self-expression and we want all branches of our project to reflect this, down to the influencers or artists that we choose to partner with." CTJR advocates that people want ownership in both the real and digital spaces, and iconic branding that brings a community together. Through their innovative project, they are delivering this hybrid approach with a contemporary art flavor.
Crash Test Joyride's first clothing collection will arrive in early spring under the label ‘C. T. JR' with their first collection being simply named "Cozy". To learn more about the Crash Test Joyride project, visit their Twitter or Instagram account.
