Li xin Li Studio Debuts Collection My Head Fell in Responding the Groups of Mental Illness

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / January 11, 2023 / Li xin Li Studio, the humanism-oriented art studio, launched the collection My Head Fell, to interpret the spiritual world of people with mental illness since mental health is the most essential topic for communities. How people deal with negative energy such as depression and anxiety determines every stage of life from childhood to adulthood. As much as mental health should be taken care of, it's difficult for outsiders to understand what is really going on in their minds.

The founder Xinli Li points out that mental disorders are the inability to cope with stress and manage emotions. Emotions that are freely experienced without any judgements don't affect one's health but at times, people go through major emotional breakdowns and don't feel complete. "To better deal with those negative issues, it's critical to get to know them before making any move," He said.

To visualize the pain is the biggest challenge to Xinli. Even those who do have mental illness can't really describe how they feel at one point. And finally he chose to use lines to portray the characters.

As part of Li's significant collection, My Head Fell is inspired by symptoms and experience of different mental disorders. The collection contains three ink drawings, each representing the idea of the beginning of mentally falling down, and ten character designs, each representing a mental experience. The ink drawings are used as assets to create 2D animations to better present the cohesiveness of the series. And the ten characters are pen on paper designs that are translated into 2D animation with Aftereffect.

According to Li, the first three ink drawings are connected. From a head that's falling off a person, to dogs barking at the head, and the body wanting to have a rest, Li wants to describe a feeling where the person itself can feel the pain but is unable to locate where the pain comes from and eventually gives up on itself.

The paper designs are the depictions towards ten different illnesses. Clutter, confusion, twisted, sharp pain as well as the desire to hide from everything else, are presented by animation and soundtracks, which made their mental worlds more visible.
