ORANGE COUNTY, CA / ACCESSWIRE / May 3, 2022 / Orange County looked like a giant hotbox this past 4/20 thanks to an event brought by MonsterBuds and Cannabis Talk 101. BudFest, the first-ever experience bringing cannabis and NFTs together, featured live performances by Hirie, The Luniz, and more. Both cannabis and NFT lovers around the world came to celebrate.

"NFTs are more than just digital art," said MonsterBuds founder Greg Tumolo, "We're here with our family from online… our community is able to use their NFTs as a way to go to these real life experiences and get VIP access."

The same way fans buy VIP tickets to festivals, NFTs offer more than meets the eye, and allows them to function as a virtual ticket to both physical and digital experiences. These experiences can be "token-gated," using software developed by Tokenproof to safely and securely verify crypto wallets for MonsterBud NFTs. Owning an NFT, such as a MonsterBud, can unlock exclusive access and perks. For example, tickets to events like BudFest or exclusive discounts, products, and merch from one of their partners. Another example is Rebud, a cannabis delivery service based in LA, offers 20% off their products to MonsterBud holders using their own token-gated software.
"This is just the beginning," says Tumolo, "we are planning to create an unrivaled utility in the cannabis space and using the MonsterBud NFTs as that access point."

MonsterBuds, an NFT project that launched in September of 2021, has been taking the cannabis and NFT industries by storm, forming relationships and partnerships with some of the biggest cannabis brands in the world - including several of the main sponsors for the event, such as Cannabis Talk 101, Packwoods, and I Love Trees.
Their NFTs, which are 10,420 digital collectibles, have done $13 million in volume in the seven months since they've launched. They've managed to create an entire digital experience as well, allowing their NFTs to be "bred together" to make additional NFTs to sell and trade, or "smoked" which acts as a like button. They're also developing their own play-to-earn game, which lets players earn their cryptocurrency $DANK while playing the game itself.
"MonsterBuds will be the go-to project for cannabis and NFTs," says Tumolo, "Our goal is to use NFTs and blockchain technology to create an entire new utility case through digital and physical goods, play-to-earn gaming, and real-world experiences like BudFest."
The road that MonsterBuds is paving looks incredibly promising. With the partnerships in the cannabis space they've made, the future looks bright for these buds. One way to stay up to date with them is by following their Twitter, Instagram, and joining their Discord.
