His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed J. Al Thani is a former Minister of Economy and Trade for the nation of Qatar. Prior to his role in that country's cabinet, he spent eighteen years working in the oil and gas industry, mainly with Qatar Petroleum. He is also one of the primary founders of both the QatarGas and RasGas liquefied natural gas companies. Presently, his main activities concern LNG Consulting and Research, as well as the geopolitics and political economy of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed J. Al Thani holds a BAA in Industrial Management and Supervision from Central Michigan University and a Global MBA from Duke University. He is also a graduate from the Senior Executive program at the London Business School. Additionally, he has authored two books to date, titled Gulf States-Time to Embrace Change and Jassim the leader-Founder of Qatar, respectively. Each of these books was published in 2012.
